Conversion tracking that reflects what happened
Measure accepted enquiries and completed actions with tracking your team can understand.
A submit-button click is different from an enquiry received. A completion page is different from a confirmed customer. I help define the right signals, implement the agreed tracking and check that those signals behave as intended.
Scope & deliverables
What you receive.
Organisations and agencies launching a website, repairing unreliable tracking or adding an important customer journey.
Clear event definitions
A record of what each event means, when it should occur and how it relates to the business action.
GA4 and GTM implementation
The agreed tags, triggers and variables, with developer requirements where website changes are needed.
Meaningful conversion signals
Selected form, lead, purchase or portal actions, based on the scope and the evidence available.
Validation and handover
Documented checks for agreed success and failure scenarios, together with implementation notes.
Source capture where useful
Requirements for preserving known campaign or referral information in the relevant system, where included.
The work covers the tracking implementation we agree. Website development, payment-system changes and wider CRM integration are scoped where needed. Historical data cannot be recreated simply by fixing future collection.
Why it matters
Give reporting a more dependable foundation
Better tracking helps your team distinguish activity from meaningful actions and investigate discrepancies with evidence. Where website data needs to connect to a CRM or operational record, I make the handover requirements clear rather than treating a browser event as the final business outcome.
Working together
How the work proceeds.
Define the action
We agree what a successful action means, where confirmation comes from and which tools are involved.
Implement with your team
I configure the tracking and work with your developer on any required website events or data.
Validate and document
We check the agreed scenarios and record what has been implemented, what was tested and any remaining dependencies.
Anonymised work example
An example from practice.
Working alongside an agency developer, I configured GTM variables, triggers and tags for a professional regulator’s practitioner portal. The selected portal and course events were checked in GA4 on the staging site before the agency’s release.

Before we start.
Can you work with my current developer?
Yes. I can define the events or data needed, configure the tracking and work through validation with your existing developer or agency.
Can you track enquiries rather than button clicks?
Where the website exposes a reliable success signal, tracking can be based on an accepted submission. We first establish how the form or system confirms success.
Will GA4 exactly match my CRM?
The systems can count different things and may have gaps caused by consent, devices, timing or offline activity. I help define each measure and investigate differences. Exact agreement is not a universal expectation.
Do you offer server-side tracking?
The first step is to establish whether it is useful for your measurement problem. Any server-side architecture or external integration needs a separately agreed scope and delivery approach.
